LOOKING FORWARD

LOOKING FORWARD

Come the day when we can wander again, lovers of travel have a very interesting road ahead. It’s become inevitable that we can’t go back to exploring the world the way we used to, we need to go forward – and that’s exactly what we are planning to do for the next leg of the journey.

Countries are only just starting to emerge from the haze of COVID-19, but for many, the prospect of tourism is beginning to look promising again. Most of us have accepted that travel as we know it will have to change, but countries are looking to that future and for ways to help travellers feel ready to take to the skies once again.

The universal appeal of travel is that it has served as a way for us to broaden our horizons, understand different cultures and experience the unknown. So while the how and where we travel will be different for a while, why we travel doesn’t need to.

Many hot spots are prepping for summer travel and believe it or not, in light of this people are booking trips. For some people, this is an opportunity to take advantage of flight deals and offers, a chance to visit places without feeling the pinch on their wallets. For others, it’s been a time to commit to a dream adventure in 2021.

If you’re serious about taking a trip in the coming months, it’s important to remember that while destinations are opening up, some come with a caveat. Certain countries are letting everyone in, while other countries are looking to travel bubbles or are only considering travellers from selected countries.

Beyond hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves you’ll need to take some other things into consideration. Travelling safely in a post-COVID era means being mindful of things to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

Some countries are also asking travellers for 14-day quarantine on arrival, which may not be feasible for a lot of travellers. Remember you may also have to do 14-day quarantine once you go back to your home country too. Some countries will also require visitors to take a COVID-19 test on arrival. It’s important to keep all this in mind because while you might be dreaming of visiting Iceland and Greece, based on where you live in the world it might make more sense for you to opt for a different destination.

How many destinations on your travel wish list are located in your home or neighbouring countries. Let’s explore destinations in nearby countries as opposed to far-flung countries across the globe.

Sure, there’s something undeniably alluring about all those faraway locales, but spending quality time discovering your home and native land can be just as fulfilling as exploring unfamiliar countries and cultures.

So, start thinking about all the places you want to visit that are a bit closer to home — you know the places you keep saying you’ll visit “someday.” Maybe it’s a world-famous national park, a must-see monument, or a place you visited as a child and want to experience with fresh eyes as an adult.

Wherever you choose to go, one thing is certain: you will return with fond memories of what we have to offer.
